  • Taught by qualified trainers
  • Evaluated and improved in line with market requirements and experience gained
Standards and agreements

NEN

Proper agreements on products, methods, and services are crucial, and when it comes to safety, they are absolutely vital. Widely supported agreements enable international trade, foster innovation, enhance safety, improve efficiency, and promote sustainability.

At NEN, the Royal Netherlands Standardization Institute, parties and stakeholders are connected to reach consensus on standards and guidelines through national and international standards committees.

NEN manages over 31,000 standards, including international ISO and IEC standards, European EN standards, and national NEN standards accepted in the Netherlands.

Safety Culture Ladder

SCL

The Safety Culture Ladder (SCL) measures and develops safety awareness, attitude and behaviour across an organisation.

It complements management systems by focusing on how people work and make safety decisions in daily practice.

SCL supports organisations to:

  • Make safety culture visible and measurable
  • Strengthen safe behaviour across teams and projects
  • Build on practical learning and continuous improvement
Quality management

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is a globally recognized standard for quality management. It helps organizations improve their performance, meet customer expectations, and demonstrate their commitment to quality.

Implementing ISO 9001 means an organization has effective processes and trained staff to deliver products or services consistently.

With over one million certificates issued to organizations in 189 countries, ISO 9001 is the most widely used quality management standard in the world.

Business benefits include:

  • Customer confidence through robust quality control processes
  • Effective complaint resolution
  • Process improvement and reduced inefficiency
  • Ongoing optimization through audits and reviews
Occupational health and safety

ISO 45001

ISO 45001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system. It provides a framework for organizations to manage risks and improve OH&S performance.

The standard includes leadership commitment, worker participation, hazard identification, risk assessment, legal compliance, emergency planning, incident investigation, and continual improvement.

ISO 45001 uses the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology to systematically manage health and safety risks and can be integrated with other ISO management system standards.

Benefits include:

  • A framework to systematically manage OH&S risks
  • Reduced workplace incidents and injuries
  • Demonstrated commitment to worker health and safety
  • Compliance with OH&S regulations
  • Increased organizational resilience
  • Continual improvement of OH&S performance
Safety checklist for contractors

VCA

VCA, the VGM Checklist for Contractors, certifies that a contractor's safety, health and environment management system has been independently audited against the standard. Internationally it is known as SCC, the Safety Certificate Contractors scheme.

It is the certification clients across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany ask for before contractors are allowed to work in high-risk environments such as substations, offshore installations and industrial sites.

Benefits of VCA certification include:

  • Independently audited safety management on every project
  • Access to client sites that require VCA as a condition of entry
  • Consistent risk assessments and method statements across teams
  • Demonstrated competence of personnel working in high-risk environments
  • Fewer incidents through structured prevention and reporting
