Reynard’s Community Investment Through Maritime Safety
I’m proud to do more than just connect power. I also believe in connecting with the communities where we operate. That’s why, on June 2nd in the port of IJmuiden, I officially handed over a brand-new lifeguard jet ski to the KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution). A gift with purpose.
CEO Jonne Schortinghuis Unveils New KNRM Lifeguard Jet Ski
The unveiling was done by my CEO, Jonne Schortinghuis, who removed the KNRM-flagged cover to reveal the bold yellow and red jet ski, now part of the KNRM Lifeguard fleet. This donation is a concrete gesture of our appreciation for the essential role lifeguards play in safeguarding lives along our coastlines.
Offshore Wind Industry’s Commitment to Sea Safety
As a company deeply involved in the offshore wind sector, we understand the importance of safety at sea. Every technician, every cable, and every vessel depends on swift and reliable emergency response. KNRM’s work makes that possible for my teams and countless others. This donation reflects my respect for that mission.
Understanding Maritime Emergency Response Operations
The launch was also a great shared experience, joining KNRM staff on a rescue vessel to get a firsthand sense of the sea’s unpredictability and the professionalism required to master it. It reminded everyone that behind every rescue is a story of courage, readiness, and teamwork.
Building Industry Partnerships for Coastal Protection
To KNRM, thank you for what you do. To everyone at Reynard, thank you for making this possible. And to our industry peers, I hope this inspires more meaningful support for the safety services that keep offshore work possible.
Corporate Responsibility in the Netherlands Maritime Sector
This partnership between Reynard and KNRM demonstrates how offshore wind companies can contribute meaningfully to maritime safety infrastructure, creating lasting benefits for both industry operations and coastal communities throughout the Netherlands.
